Malé, Maldives – Professor Dr Muhammed Khair Al-Gabbani, the President of the International Union of Universities (IUU) has extended an invitation to the President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to participate in the ninth ‘OIC Halal Expo 2022’ held in Istanbul, Turkey, from November 24-27, 2022.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Thursday met with Professor Dr Muhammed Khair Al-Gabbani, the President of the International Union of Universities (IUU).
Other senior officials from IUU also participated in the meeting held at the President’s Office yesterday.
Speaking at the meeting, President Solih welcomed the IUU President and his delegation to the Maldives and spoke on the important development sectors of the Maldives.
IUU also expressed interest in holding the conference in the Maldives next year.
The IUU stated that the expo would assist the Maldives in expanding the country’s education sector, enhance technical capabilities in the health sector and leverage investment opportunities in other sectors important for national progress.
Professor Dr Muhammed Khair Al-Gabbani shared information on the union’s activities with the President. He presented the President with brochures on the conferences and seminars and a book on the progress achieved by Turkey in the field of medicine. Dr Al-Gabbani also presented the President with a special commemorative plaque.
