Vice President departs for the UAE

Malé, Maldives – Vice President Faisal Naseem departed on an official visit to Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on Sunday to attend the World Government Summit 2023.

He is travelling to the UAE at the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The summit takes place from February 13-15, 2023.

This year, the World Government Summit will focus on shaping a better future for humanity and highlight six main themes.

It would bring together world leaders, global experts, and decision-makers to exchange ideas and contribute to developmental policies and models that would be critical in defining future governments.

During the visit, the Vice President is scheduled to speak at the Future of Work Forum and attend the launch of the “Maldives Leadership Programme.”

This is part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the governments of the Maldives and the UAE last year.

He is scheduled to conclude his visit and return to the Maldives on Thursday, February 16, 2023.
