No one else can get justice that Nasheed could not get: MP Ali Hussain

Kendhoo MP Ali Hussain has criticized the government saying that no one else can get the justice that Speaker of Parliament, former PresidentMohammed Nasheed could not get in this government

Ali Hussain tweeted criticizing the government for failing to bring justice to Speaker Nasheed two years after the attempted bombing to assassinate him.

Claiming that the MDP government has not been able to provide justice to Speaker Nasheed and that they would not be able to do it for anyone else, MP Ali Hussain said this government would be better off not talking about justice.

Two years after the bombing, President Nasheed’s close associates have criticized the government.

The deputy-speaker of parliament, MP Eva, tweeted that the government was holding back President Nasheed from getting justice without finding the people behind the attack.

Meanwhile, Henveyru West MP Hassan Latheef said the government is still trying to cover up the mistakes it has made and that President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih could not get justice for President Nasheed.

The IED explosion which went off around 20:20 on the night of May 6, 2021, left Speaker of Parliament, Mohamed Nasheed injured while he was getting into his car near his house, G. Kenereege, Malé City. In addition to him, 3 more people have also been reported to be injured from the explosion.

During the terror attack, an IED was attached to a motorcycle parked at Neelofaru Hingun and Majeedhee Magu junction. The bomb was detonated at the moment the Former President and current Speaker Mohamed Nasheed walked towards his car.

The IED contained bearing balls which in order to increase the impact of the explosion. Doctors retracted 11 such projectiles from Speaker Nasheed’s body.
