People who have bought apartments at K Park Residences, developed by Humbotech Korea in Hulhumalé are asked to report them to the police immediately if they have any complaints.
Police said in a statement that they are investigating the allegation that Hassan Mamdhooh (Mande), the minority partner of the company building the K Park Residences, is selling the properties to the public in the name of Hanbo.
“The service is investigating a complaint filed alleging fraudulent sale of apartments at K Park Residences under construction in Hulhumalé under the agreement signed between Hambo Company Pvt Ltd and Urbanco (Housing Development Corporation), to various parties using forged documents made in the name of Hanbo Company and embezzlement of funds received,” the statement said.
The case was filed by Urbanco, which awarded the construction of K Park Residence to Hanbotech Pvt. It was brought to the company’s attention by Hanbo Korea.
The matter was brought to the attention of Urbanco and the corporation asked the police to conduct a thorough investigation.
Police said in a statement that anyone with any complaints should contact the Economic Crime Department at 9790048.
In a statement, Hanbo Korea said it had not given anyone the authority to sell the apartments and that the company’s local shareholder, Hassan Mamdhooh (Mande), has allegedly embezzled the money received by selling the apartments of K Park Residence to people.
However, the company alleged that Mamdhooh also signed some agreements and sold the apartment by forging the signature of the company’s managing director, Jin Shihu.
The institution asked those who bought apartments there to report any complaints to the police without delay, while Hanbo Korea also quoted many customers who bought apartments at K Park Residences in its statement.
The matter was brought to the attention of Urbanco for an investigation, but Humbo said the K Park Residences will be completed and the apartments will be handed over by the last quarter of this year.
