The government has gazetted the list of those who will receive flats under the Gedhoruveriya Housing Scheme.

The Housing Ministry said in an announcement gazetted today that it will continue to verify the accuracy of the information provided in the forms submitted by those who have declared themselves eligible on the provisional list.

The deadline for submitting complaints to the provisional list of flat recipients is August, 22.

Those who cannot verify the validity of the information submitted in the form will be treated as per the declaration made through the “Gedhoruveriya Portal”.

The government is building 32 18-storey towers in the second phase of the Housing Scheme. These include 1,200 two-bedroom apartments and 2,800 three-bedroom apartments.

The opportunity to apply for flats under the government’s housing policy was opened on June 26 last year. 20,697 people applied for 4,000 flats by the deadline.
