The Maldives announced that all Parliament Members of the country would be working from home starting from the upcoming week.
In a tweet sent out by the official Twitter handle of the Parliament of Maldives, it was announced that it has been decided that all Parliament Members of the country would be working from home via internet starting from next week.
The tweet detailed that video conferencing would be conducted via Microsoft Teams and that all Parliament Members are to use the official email addresses assigned to them. It was also revealed that the institution is trying to provide live streaming of the teleconference to the media.
The most previous Parliament meeting was held on Monday of last week, where Speaker Mohamed Nasheed stated that cancelling meetings and closing down of the Parliament was not an option in such a delicate situation, and that any necessary meeting would be held.
While the Parliament has opted for teleconferencing, all government offices of the country have been closed from Thursday of last week until Thursday of this week.
