Addu to increase agricultural produce

Addu City has begun an initiative to increase it’s agricultural produce, in order to ensure food security of the city.

In a statement released by Addu City Council, the council encouraged existing farmers to continue their agricultural ventures and that the council would like to see an increase in agricultural produce in the city as a means of food security amidst the coronavirus situation.

The council also said that it would support local farmers as much as possible and that it would facilitate any aid possible through relevant authorities.

In addition, it also promised allocation of land for aspiring farmers as well. The council advised interested parties to email respective town offices regarding the request for farm lands.
