A boat carrying onions, potatoes and eggs from India to the Maldives has been reported to have caught fire.
MNDF revealed today that a boat named MV VB Progress was reported to have caught fire at approximately 00:30 on Saturday and that the boat was traveling out of the Maldivian waters at the time.
While none of the 11 Indian nationals on the boat were injured in this accident, the crew has since fixed the engine of the boat and are enroute to the Maldives and are expected to dock in Male’ at approximately 15:00 on Saturday.
