JUST IN: Covid-19 cases spike to 36 in the Maldives

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced the 15th Covid-19 case in Male’ spiking the number of cases in Maldives to 36.

The most recent case is a Bangladeshi national, who tested positive after visiting the flu clinic with symptoms. Officials are now transporting the individual to an isolation facility.

Reports say that so far four clusters of the virus have been identified in the capital of Maldives, which has a population of  almost 100,000 in the region alone. So far, 16 of the total positive cases in the country are all from Male’.

Til date, 16 patients who tested positive for the coronavirus have recovered, and two had left the country before the results came back positive.
