Laamu Atoll, Maldives – All 95 surveillance samples randomly taken from the gan of Laamu test negative for Covid-19.
The Laamu gan hospital has said that the 95 random samples taken on the first of July tested negative for the virus.
The hospital expressed gratitude towards the volunteers, staffs of the hospital and the residents of the island for their support and cooperation in the situation.
Along Laamu gan, recently 100 surveillance samples were taken from Fuvahmulah as well. The result of those samples were also confirmed negative for the virus.
The total number of confirmed cases in Maldives is 1,901. While 763 people have recovered from the virus, there are still 1,128 active cases up to date.
Currently, 1,201 are in isolation facilities and 1,443 are in quarantine facilities.
Until now 8 have passed away from the virus in Maldives. The deceased are four Maldivians nationalities and four of Bangladeshi nationalities.
