Islamabad, Pakistan — As the Covid-19 cases in Pakistan rises day by day, Pakistan revealed that the number of confirmed cases may reach 1.2 million by the end of July.

The Planning and Development Minister of Pakistan, Asad Umer warned the public if the citizens continue to relentlessly refuse wearing masks in public and maintaining social distance, the virus will keep spreading rapidly  throughout the country.

”We are halfway through June, and the confirmed cases until now have risenup to 150,000. It is likely for the amount to double by the end of June and could even reach one million to 1.2 million by the end July,” Umer stated.

However, as the restrictions taken may control the number of confirmed cases, Umer disclosed that it is not for sure if the cases would double.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recently instructed Pakistan to carry on with a stricter  lockdown again.

Pakistan is the home to over 212 million people. Nearly 144,000 cases have been confirmed up to date, this is likely to be under reported due to testing limitations in the country. At present, 2,810 have passed away from the virus.
