Covid-19: 229 recoveries, active cases falls to 515

Malé, Maldives — The active cases in Maldives falls from 714 to 515, as 229 cases recovered from the virus in Maldives.

As of 6 pm of June 15, HPA confirmed additional 30 cases of:

  • 16 Maldivians
  • 13 Bangladeshis
  • 01 Nepali

Counting these 30 cases, the total number of confirmed cases in Maldives is now at 2,065.

Along with the 229 recovery cases confirmed, a total of 1,540 individuals have recovered from the virus.

Up to date, four Elder Maldivians and four Bangladeshis have passed away from the virus in Maldives.

For the first time in two months, Male’ residents are allowed to go out without permits as Maldives entered its second phase of lockdown on June 15. While mosques, parks and public spaces have been opened with safety measures in Male’, the restaurants, cafe’s and schools are set to be opened in the beginning of June.

Furthermore, all the restrictions taken on other islands of Maldives have also been lifted.
