Covid-19: 29 additional confirmed cases and 130 recoveries.

Male’, Maldives — Additional 29 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed and 130 recoveries have been recorded in Maldives.

As of 6 pm of June 16, HPA confirmed additional 29 cases of:

  • 15 Bangladeshis
  • 09 Nepalese
  • 02 Indians
  • 01 Filipino
  • 01 Maldivian
  • 01 N/A

Counting these 29 cases, the total number of confirmed cases in Maldives is now at 2,094. Among the confirmed cases, currently there are 414 active cases in Maldives.

Along with the 130 recovery cases confirmed, a total of 1,670 individuals have recovered from Covid-19. Therefore, 79% of the people confirmed for the virus has recovered in Maldives.

Although the most number of confirmed cases in Maldives are of immigrant workers living in Maldives, the majority of the recovery cases consist of Maldivian nationals.

Up to date, four elderly Maldivians and four Bangladeshis have passed away from the virus in Maldives.

While 347 people are held in isolation facilities, 331 people are in quarantine facilities.
