Covid-19: 24 confirmed cases and 17 recoveries in 24 hours

Malé, Maldives — Additional 24 Covid-19 cases and 17 recoveries have been confirmed over a day in Maldives.

HPA disclosed that, as of 6pm of June 30, from 6pm of June 29, additional 24 cases were confirmed. They are:

  • 11 Maldivians
  • 07 Bangladeshis
  • 06 Indians

Including these 24 confirmed cases, Maldives now has a total of 2,361 confirmed Covid-19 cases. However, among these cases, there are currently only 403 active cases in Maldives.

While 24 people were confirmed to have the virus, 17 have completely recovered from it. Along with these 17 recoveries, a total of 1,944 people have completely recovered from the virus in Maldives. The recovery rate is roughly at 82 percent now.

Up to date, 9 have passed away from Covid-19 in Maldives. The deceased are 4 elderly Maldivian nationals, 4 Bangladeshi nationals and a Filipino nationality.

The most recent death was of a citizen of Philippines. This person passed away at the age of 43, while receiving care in DH11 facility of  Dharumavantha Hospital at 01:50 pm of June 30. This was the only Filipino that had been tested positive for the virus in Maldives.

While there are 275 people held in Isolation facilities, 134 are in quarantine facilities at present.
