Filitheyo, Faafu Atoll – Maldives Police Service has started investigating a sexual assault complaint on a woman residing at F. Filitheyo quarantine facility.
An official of Maldives Police Service has confirmed that a complaint has been filed and that the incident is being investigated.
The woman was placed on quarantine after returning from abroad to be with family, due to the Covid-19 pandemic social media says.
At present, Maldives has stopped placing new arrivals in official quarantine facilities, but instead in home quarantine for 14 days. Those who travel from Male’ to other islands will also be placed in home quarantine, after being administered a rapid test and the results come back negative.
