Male’, Maldives – President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has announced that the borders of Maldives will open on 15th of July.
Addressing the nation today, the President said that the airports of Maldives would re-open on 15th July for international travel and that opening of the resorts would follow. He added that the government is trying to open up guest houses some time during August.
“The biggest satisfaction we get is, Germany, which brings the most number of tourists in to the country, has declared Maldives a travel safe zone. And Dubai has also declared Maldives as a country which is safe to travel to.”
The President also revealed that the target would be to aim for a quick economic recovery. To accomplish this, a task force has been mobilized to gather stakeholder opinions and organize relevant activities as well as securing the necessary funds.
