Male’, Maldives – The number of Maldivians who tested positive for Covid-19 in the Maldives has risen above 1000.
According to the information published by Health Protection Agency (HPA), a total of 67 people tested positive for the virus in the past 24 hours.
This comes as a new surge in cases in being observed in the country, with Maldives easing lockdown restrictions, and easing the restrictions involving home quarantine for those who travel from Male’ – the worst hit zone of the country.
As of Sunday night, the positive toll of Covid-19 in the country is at 2731 with 419 active cases and 2284 recoveries. Further, there are 353 people in isolation and 71 individuals who have been placed in quarantine.
The number of people who have died in Maldives due to the virus is at 13.
