Male’, Maldives – Maldives Meteorological Services (MET) has issued a Yellow Alert warning, predicting harsh weather for the northern atolls of the Maldives.
The warning was issued for Atolls between Haa Alifu atoll and Lhaviyani atoll until 13:30 on Friday. MET forecasts heaving rain and thundering during this time.
Southern atolls are expected winds at 8 to 18 miles per hour from South West and West, while other parts of the country are likely to experience winds at a speed of 13 to 23 miles per hour from North West and West. However, winds may go up as high as 45 miles per hour, warned MET.
Generally, seas are expected to be rough during this time as well.
