Male’, Maldives – Maldives Meteorological Service (MET) has announced that the country is generally expected to experience harsh weather within the next 24 hours.
Forecasting the weather for the country, MET revealed that some regions are likely to experience strong winds at times as well as rough seas. Generally heavy rain and thundering can also be expected, according to MET.
As for the wind, wind is expected to blow from South West and South at a speed of 10 to 20 miles per hour in the northern and mid atolls of Maldives, while down south, winds are expected to go as high as only 5 to 15 miles per hour. However sudden gushes of 40 miles per hour can be expected across the country.
As seas are likely to be rough through out the country, all vessels traveling by sea are advised to proceed with caution.
