Male’, Maldives – Ooredoo Maldives has announced “Atholhu Run” – the first virtual run in the Maldives – today.
The run which will take place in all atolls of the country would start on the 28th of August and is being held to celebrate Ooredoo’s 15 year anniversary of serving the Maldivian community.
Speaking about the event, Chief Commercial Officer of Ooredoo Maldives Hussain Niyaz said that the aim of the run is to promote social bonding through sports and that the run is being held virtually to encourage social distancing.
“Atoll run is a representation of the work done by Ooredoo to connect the people of Maldives. While we are unable to carry out our Colour Run, we hope that the Atoll run would be some thing different that we do with runners and that everyone enjoys the event.”
The event would feature 20 runners from 20 atolls who will be running, while the beautiful scenery of the atolls are displayed via pictures and videos published on social media.
