Male’, Maldives – The High Court of Maldives has ordered Mohamed Najaah to be jailed for the murder of Mariyam Sheereen, 10 years after Sheereen was found dead in a pile of trash near a building under construction.
Najah, who was romantically involved with Sheereen at the time is said to have killed Sheereen while living with her in an room of Maafannu Kurahaage since December 20th of 2009. The state charged him with first degree murder.
The case was filed to the High Court of Maldives after the Criminal Court ruled that Najaah was not found guilty of the charges, in 2015.
Sheereen was found dead in a pile of trash near Maafannu Angaagiri, after she went missing, during the month of January in 2009.
