Laamu Atoll, Maldives – Search efforts are underway after a man went missing when a boat traveling near Laamu Gan caught on fire and submerged under water.
According to Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF), 10 people were traveling on the boat at the time of the incident. While nine people have been rescued, a foreigner traveling on the boat remains unaccounted for.
Details on how the vessel caught on fire has not been released by any official institution.
