Male, Maldives – The two thalassemia patients who tested positive for Covid-19 in the Maldives have made a full recovery from the infection, revealed Maldives Blood Service.
Speaking in a special coverage program by Public Service Media (PSM), the Associate Specialist in Pediatrics, Dr. Ahmed Umar revealed the news, detailing that both patients were identified to have contracted the coronavirus infection through tests which were administered following contact tracing of previously positive patients.
He also added that both patients remained asymptomatic for the duration of 14 days, after which, they have now tested negative for the virus.
Thalassemia patients are considered in the high risk category of Covid-19.
