Maldives Blood Services (MBS) has requested for any possible donors come in and donate blood, specially B- and O- blood which have become scarce during this time of the year.
Spokesperson for matters relating to Covid-19 in the Maldives, Mabrouq Azeez made the request on behalf for MBS during the press conference held on Friday night and announced that arrangements for donation would be made starting from Saturday. Donations would be accepted from 10 am to 4pm everyday, he announced.
Due to the travel restrictions imposed within the country, there have been difficulties in getting blood for thalassemia patients, since majority of the donors are resort workers, of whom many are stuck in the resorts they work in.
