High speed ferry service begins between Addu, Fuvahmulah and Huvadhoo

Addu City, Maldives – Relax Ferry Service, a private company operating out of Addu City has begun high speed ferry services between Addu, Fuvahmulah and the islands of Huvadhoo atoll.

The company started its services with a speed boat equipped with 5 engines of 250 horse power, which can accommodate 60 passengers at any given time. The company aims to have a minimum of four trips between Addu and Fuvahmulah, with a minimum of two trips between Addu and Huvadhoo atoll, on a weekly basis.

The service made it’s first trip on the 24th of August, while the next trip is scheduled for the 27th of this month.

According to Relax Ferry Service, the ferry service would allow patients who wish to consult at Addu Equatorial Hospital to travel to Addu easily and at a much affordable rate.

“The trip will begin from Maradhoo harbour, and from there, the ferry will make a pit stop at Fuvahmulah, after which it would head over to Vaadhoo, Faresmaathoda, Madaveli and then Thinadhoo. The ferry will return back to Addu from Thinadhoo.” The company says.

Revealing the price ranges for the trips, Relax Ferry Service said that a trip from Addu to Fuvahmulah would cost MVR 300.00 per way, while a trip from Addu to Vaadhoo or Faresmaathoda would cost MVR 700 per way. Further, a trip from Addu to Madaveli or Thinadhoo would cost MVR 800.

In addition to this, the company also aims to start ferry services between the south and north part of Huvadhoo Atoll, with a speed boat with the capacity of 50 passengers.
