Male’, Maldives – Former President Maumoon Abdul Qayyoom, who has tested positive for Covid-19 is recovering well, revealed his daughter and current Heritage Minister Yumna Maumoon.
Yumna revealed the news in a tweet she sent out earlier on Friday, which read that both her father and mother are doing well, and that she is in self quarantine, following her father testing positive for the virus.
Maumoon, who tested positive for the coronavirus on Tuesday, is currently being treated at Dharumavantha Hospital. Maumoon is considered a high risk patient due to his advanced age of 82.
At present, Maldives is recording cases of Covid-19 by the hundreds on an average per day, which if continues, public health experts fear would lead to a situation which is uncontrollable in the country.
