Hoandedhhoo, Maldives – Four individuals in home quarantine at Gdh. Hoandedhhoo have tested positive for Covid-19.
All four individuals were in a travel related quarantine and tested positive on Wednesday, marking these four cases as the first in the island.
As the number of Covid-19 cases in the country are on the rise, the virus is slowly infiltrating its way from the congested capital, into the entire country as well. At present, there are active cases of Covid-19 in 41 islands, with 16 tourists and 29 staff also having have tested positive for the coronavirus in 16 different resorts.
At present, there are two islands on monitoring status, which are Dh. Maaenboodhoo and Dh. Kudahuvadhoo. Apart from this, going out of the capital, Male’, has been restricted to only essential travel as most of the cases are from Male’.
Most of the cases in the islands out of Male’ have been imported cases from Male’, either by those who test positive while in home quarantine or crew members of boats which travel between Male’ and the islands.
