Ibrahim Shaheeb as Maldivian High Commissioner to Singapore

Malé, Maldives — Ibrahim Shaheeb has been approved as the Maldives High Commissioner to Singapore by the people’s majilis.

At Sunday’s parliament sitting, there were 58 MPs who voted in favour of Shaheeb’s appointment to the post as a representative of Maldives to Singapore.

Shaheeb’s name was forwarded for parliamentary consideration by President Ibrahim Solih himself, after a decision was made to appoint then representative, Dr. Abdulla Mausoom to appoint as the new tourism minister of Maldives.

Since the early 1990s, Shaheeb has been involved in foreign services, including when he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1991.

Other than Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shaheeb has searved in other ministries of Maldives as well, including as a permanent secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs.
