Malé, Maldives – The High Court of Maldives on Sunday revoked the Criminal Court decision to release the two suspected masterminds of the 130Kg drug bust for medical purposes.

The High Court ordered the rearrest of Shaheeb Ibrahim (42) from GA. Villingili and Ahmed Moosa(48) from HA. Hoarafushi. The High Court stated that release due to medical reasons are granted for conditions that pose a threat to the patient and this does not apply to the two individuals.

In February 2021, Shaheeb and Moosa were charged with trafficking and smuggling drugs including Diaphormine. The police raided an operation using a fishing boat to smuggle 130Kg of drugs into Hulhumalé.

Shaheeb is also involved in another case in 2019 smuggling drugs into the country via an Iranian boat.
