JUST IN: Two new Covid-19 cases in Addu City

Addu City, Maldives – Two new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in Addu City, on Wednesday.

Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC) confirmed this, adding that the two individuals who tested positive are a 38 and 42 year old male.

Manager of Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH), Sharaf Saadhaath detailed that both positive cases are from travel related quarantines, with one individual being at home quarantine in Hulhudhoo, and the other being in quarantine at Gan. Both patients are reported to be otherwise healthy.

With this, the total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Addu city is at 14, with all other patients except the most recent two cases having have recovered.

With the number of Covid-19 cases increasing in the atolls, HEOC has restricted the movement of people from Male’ to the atolls, with more than 100 cases having have been recorded from the atolls so far.
