Male’, Maldives- During two police operations carried out in Male’, four people carrying 511 cans of beer and 116 bottles of alcohol have been arrested.
Police stated that during the operation carried out on the 13th of this month, 3 people unloading goods from a pickup near a house in Henveyru were arrested. It was also revealed that upon further inspection of this pickup, 511 cans of beer were discovered.
This includes tow 30 local males aged 30 and a 23 year old Bangladeshi man.
In another case, a drug bust operation carried out on the 15th of this month, a van near Male’ industrial zone was stopped and searched and 116 bottles of alcohol were found. A 26 year old Maldivian man was arrested.
The Drug Enforcement Department is investigating both of these cases.
