Addu City, Maldives – Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH) has announced that it is preparing to perform joint replacement surgeries at the hospital.
Manager of AEH, Sharaf Saadhaath informed local media outlet “adduLIVE”, that all necessary preparations are underway and that the surgeries would begin to be performed at the hospital very soon.
He added that the surgeries would be performed in collaboration with a team of specialists from abroad, and that the surgeries would begin in the near future after the team completed the travel related quarantine period, which has been made mandatory due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
While AEH prepares for the joint replacement surgery, the hospital conducted its first neurosurgery in collaboration with a team of specialists from ADK.
The tertiary hospital has also performed several other orthopedic surgeries recently, including spinal and hip joint surgeries.
The hospital which officially began providing services on January 15th of this year currently has five operation theaters.
