Malé, Maldives — A man has been stabbed with a sharp object in the streets of Malé city.
Police revealed that tonight at 08:45pm, information of a man getting stabbed near Thoiba Mosque of Maafannu was received.
While the injured individual has been taken to the hospital, no further information was made public regarding the injuries recieved by the man.
A 19-year-old maldivian male has been taken into custody as the police further investigates the case.
Murders and stabbings have been rare in the Maldives in the past two years compared to the previous years, where numerous stabbings and gang violence activities were seen in the capital Malé city. Brutal murders also took place during the previous years.
