Two new judges appointed to High Court

Male’, Maldives – Two new judges have been appointed to the High Court of Maldives.

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) revealed on Wednesday, that Uz. Hassan Shafeeu of K. Dhiffushi, and Uza. Fathimath Faruheeza of S. Maradhoo have been newly appointed as the judges of the High Court.

Uza. Fathimath Faruheeza, who is currently serving as the Magistrate Judge of S. Feydhoo Magistrate Court, has completed her Bachelors of Law (Hons) and Masters of Comparative Law from the Malaysian International Islamic University. She has served 10 years in the field with experience as a public prosecutor, private practice as well as in educating in the field.

Uz. Hassan Shafeeu earned his Bachelors of Law (LLB) from Maldives College of Higher Education, as well as a Masters Degree in Comparative Law at the International Islamic University in Malaysia. He has served as a judge in the Family Court and Civil Court of Maldives since 2013, and has 14 years of experience in the field. In addition to teaching law, he also assists in drafting laws, revealed JSC.
