Male’, Maldives – Seven carrying excessive amounts of alcohol have been arrested by Maldives Police Service in two different operations carried out in Male’ City.
Police revealed that they acted on a tip received by the Intelligence department of the institution, where by a pickup truck near T Jetty was searched. During this search Police are reported to have discovered 816 cans of beer.
Six men have been arrested on the 23rd of September, in relation the case including a 24 year old Bangladeshi national, and locals aged 18, 20 35 and 36.
In addition to this, Police have arrested a 40 year old man, upon receiving complaints of driving under the influence. Upon checking the vehicle which he was driving, 18 cans of beer were discovered.
Both cases are under investigation.
