Kulhudhuffushi, Maldives – Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC) has revealed that Hdh. Kulhudhuffushi was put under monitoring status following a crew members of a boat in Kulhudhuffushi tested positive for Covid-19.
It was further added that due to this, Nolhivaram of the same atoll has also been placed under monitoring, barring any unauthorized travel to and form both islands until further notice.
According to HEOC, both islands are expected to be under monitoring for the duration of contact tracing, upon which it would be decided on how to proceed.
Local media have reported that the crew member who tested positive for the virus is a captain of a vessel traveling between Male’ and the island, which docked in the harbor of Kulhudhuffushi some time on Friday morning.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) issued the notice of Kulhudhuffushi being placed under monitoring, at 20:45 of Friday night, however, not divulging the exact cause of the decision.
According to the latest statistics by HPA, there are 47 active cases of the coronavirus across 22 different islands of the country.
