WHO donates ICU and laboratory equipment to Maldives

Male’, Maldives – World Health Organisation (WHO) has donated medical equipment to Maldives.

Health Ministry revealed that WHO has donated medical equipment to Maldives on Saturday, in order to aid Maldives with the work against Covid-19 and to support the health care workers of the country. The donations include laboratory and ICU equipment.

These equipment were presented by the representative of WHO to Maldives, Dr. Arvind Mathur at a special ceremony held at the Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC) in Male’.

The Ministry said that these equipment include portable digital x-ray devices, laboratory equipment as well as test kits. They further said that these equipment will help develop the ICUs in different areas of Maldives. However, the Ministry has not yet revealed the quantity of items received.

WHO has donated medical equipment to Maldives before as well. This includes PCR test kits and over 15,000 gene expert cartridges.
