Male’, Maldives – Member of Parliament for West Henveiru constituency and Chairperson of the ruling party, Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) as announced that he has been quarantined.
In a tweet he sent out, Latheef revealed that his mother has tested positive for Covid-19, resulting in him getting quarantined for a period of 14 days as he is a direct contact of a patient. He also revealed that his initial Covid-19 tests came back negative.

While more than 10,000 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the Maldives, currently there are 1,210 active cases, with more than 8,000 having have made a full recovery.
