COVID-19: Home quarantined individual from Dhuvaafaru tests positive

Dhuvaafaru, Maldives – An individual from R. Dhuvaafaru in home quarantine has tested positive for Covid-19.

According to the island’s health center, the individual tested positive after his sample was taken on completion of the 10 day quarantine period.

A total of 5 samples were collected from the island yesterday, of which one sample tested positive. The health center revealed that there are no direct contacts of the positive case.

As of today, Maldives has recorded 19,479 positive cases of Covid-19 within the island nation. While 17,002 recoveries have been recorded Maldives today recorded its 61st death due to the virus. HPA and health professionals urge the public to adhere to the guidelines set by the authorities and get vaccinated to minimize the spread of the virus.
