Addu City, Maldives – Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH) announces that they have done more than 2,000 Covid-19 tests from their laboratory until yesterday.
AEH finished setting up their Covid-19 testing facilities in their laboratory in June 14th and was the first facility to have this service outside of Male’. Most of the tests done at AEH are of people who had undergone home quarantine after returning from either Male’ or abroad.
AEH had 272 samples taken during the random sampling from the whole city which was carried out during last week and all the results of the samples tested so far have been negative.
According to Heath Protection Agency (HPA) statistics there are two currently active cases in Addu which are in Gan and Hulhudhoo.
Until now 10,157 people have tested positive in Maldives and 34 have lost their lives to the virus while 8,950 have recovered.
