Nizar to Dr. Jameel: Go to your island and start farming

Former Vice President of Maldives, Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed (L) and Former MP Ali Nizar (R)

Addu City, Maldives – Former parliament member of Hithadhoo southern constituency Ali Nizar has called out the Former Vice President of Maldives, Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed to go back to his home island of Fuvahmulah and start farming.

The former MP Nizar said this in retaliation to the Former Vice Presidents comment on MDP making the people’s livelihoods when ever they come to power. In the tweet Nizar posted sharing a local news website “adduLIVE”s article, he said that if the Ex-VP was in MDP he would also get a job in this administration and not to live in such a poor state.

Nizar said that even he was doing the same work and that it’s better for the Ex-VP to do the same as well. Nizar had moved back to his home town after he lost his ticket in the last MDP parliamentary primaries and has been seen active in his family businesses including farming.

The former Vice President also competed in the parliamentary elections on a Jumhooree Party (JP) ticket and lost the Villimale’ constituency seat to the independent candidate Ahmed Usham. After he lost he joined back to Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) as an advisor after resigning from Jumhooree Party saying that he lacks the opportunity to carry out his vision for the country. After joining PPM he has been actively voicing out against the current government and criticizing the decisions of the administration.
