Male’, Maldives – Maldives Customs has confiscated drugs worth over a million Rufiyaa, which was being imported into Maldives via post.
Customs said that the drugs confiscated were found in postal parcels brought into Maldives between 28th June to 13th October. They have also said that the drugs confiscated were from twelve different smuggle attempts.
Maldives Customs tweeted today revealing the names of the specific drugs confiscated, the exact weightage of the drugs as well as the countries from which the drugs were imported. They have also publicised a picture of all the drugs confiscated.

The drugs weighing 503 grams are expected to have a street value of MVR 1,475,800 or one million four thousand and eight hundred Maldivian Rufiyaa. The case has been filed at Maldives Police Service and is currently being investigated by the police.
As of recent, Maldives has been documenting major drug seizes with over 200 kilos of drugs having been confiscated in just two operations.
