Aim is to make AEH a trustworthy hospital – CEO Dr. Solih

Addu City, Maldives – The aim is to make Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH) a trustworthy and reputable hospital, says the newly appointed CEO, Dr. Mohamed Solih.

In an interview given to local media outlet, “Mihaaru”, Dr. Solih said that he took over the hospital because he is from Addu, and because he believes he has a duty towards the city.

He added that the hospital is currently equipped with capable employees, which include doctors and nurses, and that the hospital also has the necessary equipment, all which requires a proper management to run the hospital.

“What you see in IGMH [Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital], are the changes brought when I was there. Medica was also brought to the same level from scratch. I want to make AEH a trustworthy and reputable hospital as well” he said.

Dr. Solih, who has been appointed as the CEO of AEH at the same level as Deputy Ministers of Maldives, has 15 years of experience in the management area of the health industry. He also has 26 years of experience in clinical care, and has completed a Masters of Surgery (General Surgery) from Nepal, as well as a Masters in Business Administration from the UK.

Prior to his appointment as CEO of AEH, he worked as the Chief Surgeon at Medica Hospital, as well as the Managing Director and CEO of the hospital as well. He also has filled several management positions at IGMH and other health care facilities.

Apart from this, Dr. Solih is also the President of the Maldives Anti Doping Association and one of the founding members of Maldives Medical Association, Maldives Orthopedic Association as well as the Maldivian Medical Student Association.
