Male’, Maldives — The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid and the Minister of Defence, Mariya Ahmed Didi have held a meeting to discuss counter-terrorism as well as regional and international security concerning Maldives.
On Monday, Minister Shahid tweeted disclosing that a meeting was held with Minister Mariya to discuss about the lastest issues of the regional and international security.

Regarding the Meeting, Minister Shahid stated that it is crucial for the Foreign and Defense Ministry to work together in order to ensure the security and safety of the Indian Ocean.
The meeting was held in the presence of the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel, Foreign Secretary Abdul Ghafoor Mohamed and Chief of Defence Force Major General Abdulla Shamaal.
This meeting comes just shortly after the Maldive signed a confidential agreement with the United States, on strengthening the military relationship which has been praised and supported by India stating that the agreement shows the Maldives policy on the Indian Ocean very clearly.
