Malé, Maldives — The President of the opposition PPM-PNC coalition, Abdul Raheem Abdullah (Adhurey) congratulates the newly elected President of America, Joe Biden on behalf of the imprisoned former President of Maldives, Yameen Abdul Gayoom.

Last night, CNN revealed that Biden has been elected for the new president of America. On his success, Adhurey tweeted congratulating President-elect, Joe Biden and Vice President-elect, Kamala Harris on behalf of the former President and the Leadership.

According to the latest updates revealed from the Associated Press, Biden has achieved 290 votes, while Trump achieved only 214.

Biden’s win was projected to have exceeded the 270 mark of electoral votes required to secure a win in the election, after the Associated Press called the state of Pennsylvania in his favour on Saturday night.

Joe Biden, 77, is the 46th elected President of the United States and his Vice President, Kamala Harris has made history by becoming the first ever female Vice President of the country. Along with this, Kamala is also the first ever woman of color, and the first Asian American to hold the position.
