Male’, Maldives – Maldives Police Service (MPS) has reported that they have foiled a terror plot by extremists in Maldives and apprehended the culprits.
Police media official stated that the service had stopped the attack after getting intelligence information and brought in the suspected people under police custody.
”Police have stopped an extremist attack which was being planned in Maldives after Police Intelligence received information of the attack and brought some people under our custody and this operation is still ongoing” Police media official.
Police have further revealed that operation was carried out in Male’, Male’ area sea and Th. Thimarafushi. One person from Male’, three people who were onboard a fishing vessel and one person from Th. Thimarafushi have been arrested so far in relation to this attempted attack.
