President Solih visits Lhaviyani Atoll

Lhaviyani Atoll, Maldives – President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has traveled to Lhaviyani Atoll, also known as Faadhippolhu, which is located north of Male’ Atoll on Thursday morning, on an official trip.

The President’s Office revealed that the President is scheduled to travel to Lh. Maafilaafushi during this trip, to officiate the 66th Basic Training Program of Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF). It has also been revealed that the President would be touring the MNDF’s Composite Training Centre and other facilities during his trip.

President Solih is also scheduled to visit Felivaru Island later on Thursday, where he will tour the Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company’s (MIFCO) fish canning factory and the site allocated for the construction of its new cold storage facility. The President is also expected to meet local fishermen during his trip to the island.

This is the second trip made by the President out of Male’ atoll since the Covid-19 pandemic affected the country. The President’s first such trip was to Haa Alif. Hoarafushi, located up north, to officiate the opening ceremony of the island’s newly established airport.
