Male’, Maldives – Home Minister Imran said that volunteerism is an action that will bring self satisfaction and inner happiness.
Speaking on the occasion of International Volunteers Day, Minister Imran said that volunteering to do something is helping someone or a cause expecting nothing in return. He said that volunteerism is a very important feature that brings one another closer within the society and said that this was passed down to us by our ancestors and it is essential for the young generation to learn this important feature.
Volunteering to do something will bring immense self satisfaction, happiness the improves relations, increases happiness and kindness within the society.

Minister Imran further said that due to volunteerism, complete results and success can be achieved together and that to increase the spirit of volunteerism in Maldives, everyone must join hands and work together.
International Volunteers Day is celebrated to acknowledge the hard working volunteers working for the betterment of our society. The theme for this year is “together we can through volunteering” implying the possibility of achieving success through volunteering and working together. Volunteers are especially essential in situations such as the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic where there are many volunteer frontline workers who work for the betterment of the society expecting nothing in return. As said by Minister Imran, today is the day to appreciate the service of volunteers to the country.
