Biddings open for 3 Islands & a land for developing resorts

Male’, Maldives – The Tourism Ministry of Maldives announces that they have opened bidding for three islands and a land that has been given for the purpose of leasing, developing, operating and maintaining tourist resorts in Maldives.

The three uninhabited islands the government gave to develop resorts in are Alidhuffarufinolhu in Haa Alifu Atoll, Kudalhaimendhoo in Shaviyani Atoll and Kunnamalei island in Noonu Atoll.

In addition to this, the Tourism Ministry has also auctioned 15 hectare of land from Vaikaramuraidhoo in Haa Dhaalu Atoll to any eligible investors, local or foreign.

The Ministry instructed the interested parties to participate in the information session that will be held virtually on Zoom at 1300hrs on January 14th to clear any information before bidding on the islands and land.

To participate in the virtual meeting held on January, interested applicants are required to send an email requesting to join the information session along with their name, email address and phone number to planning@tourism.gov.mv before 1400hrs on January 13th.

The Ministry also informed that the application form to purchase the Bid Document can be obtained from the Ministry’s website (www.tourism.gov.mv) and that it will be available to purchase from 0900hrs till 1300hrs from 31st December 2020 to 04th March 2021 at the Ministry of Tourism (Velaanage 5th Floor) reception.

The Ministry also requested all interested parties to submit their proposals at 1000hrs of March 7th. If anyone wishes to further clarify information regarding the bidding process, they are advised to contact the Ministry by email planning@tourism.gov.mv  before 1300hrs of March 2nd.
