Launch & Sea Ambulance collides injuring three

Male’, Maldives — A launch and Sea Ambulance has collided in the waters near Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi injuring three people.

The Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) informed that they received information of a launch traveling to F. Feeali carrying two people and a sea ambulance travelling from M. Muli with eight people had collided in an accident near Ithaafushi Resort around 01:25 in the morning.

MNDF informed that the two watercrafts were damaged to different extends and three people including the captain of the launch had suffered injuries due to the incident.

Although MNDF did not reveal details of the members in the watercrafts or who got injured, they mentioned that two individuals from the eight in the sea ambulance had sustained injuries.

As soon as MNDF received the report, an MNDF Male’ Area Coastguard Squadron Launch and a sea ambulance was sent to dispatch the scene and to transport the injured individuals to the capital Male’ city for treatment.
